United Siyafunda Strengthens Teacher Training and Robotics Innovation at Kaalfontein Primary School Johannesburg, November 2025. What began a year ago as a teacher training initiative at Kaalfontein Primary School with just 10 educators has grown into a transformative program, with 30 educators now actively participating in coding and robotics workshops.

Through United Siyafunda’s support, educators were equipped with the necessary skills to integrate coding and robotics into their classrooms. Each participant successfully earned the ISEt Unisa M1 and M2 certificates and received training in the CAPS Coding and Robotics curriculum pedagogy, ensuring alignment with the Department of Education’s learning outcomes.

After six months of intensive training, two Foundation Phase educators advanced to District-level training offered by the Department of Basic Education. Both were subsequently selected to join the prestigious Coding and Robotics program at the University of Johannesburg — a powerful reflection of United Siyafunda’s commitment to teacher development and educational excellence.
