The project is to investigate the potential for the Internet and Artificial Intelligence, AI, to substantially update and enhance education in a rural Gambian school.
Due to its rural location, it is impossible to connect the school to the internet using traditional methods such as copper or fibre-optic cables. Instead, reliable, broadband internet access has been facilitated through a dish installed on the roof of the school that is able to communicate with orbiting Starling satellites.
The next phase which we shall move onto shortly is teacher training.
